Dancers can begin at CDA at age 3 in our Preschool Level.
No previous experience is required for our younger levels. Our program is designed to build strong fundamentals from the beginning.

Yes. During September, we offer trial classes as space allows so dancers can find the class that feels like the best fit.
Yes. Registration remains open for approximately one month after classes begin.
Fall registration closes October 1. Registration reopens in December and closes again February 1.
Tuition is $80 per month for the first class and $35 for each additional class. Tuition is posted on the first of the month and is late after the 15th.
Tuition includes weekly classes, two annual productions, costumes, dress rehearsals and staging sessions, show T-shirts, group pictures, and one VIP parent badge for performances.
Yes. The registration fee is $50 and secures your dancer’s place in class.
Yes. Costumes for both included productions are provided as part of tuition.
There are no additional required purchases. Optional extras may include individual pictures, show videos, additional T-shirts, camps, master classes, and other performance opportunities.
Please notify us and make sure your account balance is current. We also appreciate knowing why you are leaving so we can continue improving our classes.
Levels are based on both age and skill development. As dancers advance, placement becomes more skill-based so they can train safely and continue progressing.
Most dancers spend about two to three years in a level while developing the strength, technique, and confidence needed to master the curriculum.
Yes. If a dancer demonstrates the required skills with proper technique and confidence, instructors may recommend early advancement.
Ballet is not required for recreational dancers. Elite Tribe dancers are required to take ballet and barre.
As dancers advance, additional technique training helps them continue progressing safely and successfully. Certain supporting classes become required beginning at the Junior Level.
Dancers should follow the CDA dress code, wear the required shoes, and bring a water bottle. Proper dancewear creates a better learning environment and allows instructors to see technique clearly.
Evaluations are required for dancers who want to be placed in the Junior, Teen, or Senior Levels. Younger levels are placed primarily by age.

Not always. Preschool dancers advance based primarily on age, while older dancers may need to demonstrate the skills and readiness required for the next level.
Each level has specific technical expectations. You can view our Level Expectations online or contact us to learn what your dancer is working toward.
Yes, as long as registration is still open and space is available.
No. Evaluation sheets are used internally, but teachers communicate with dancers about their strengths and areas for growth.
CDA offers two annual productions included in tuition, plus a third optional performance opportunity.
No, but they are strongly encouraged. Performing helps make the class experience complete and gives dancers the opportunity to use what they have learned onstage.
Yes. Nutcracker costumes are provided as rentals and returned after the show. End-of-year Showcase costumes are yours to keep.
Yes, for dancers participating in the show. Dress rehearsal is especially important and must be attended unless an exception is approved by the Director.
Each dancer receives one VIP badge for the responsible adult helping backstage. All other guests must purchase a ticket.
Please notify CDA as soon as possible. Missing dress rehearsal may prevent a dancer from performing unless an exception is approved by the Director.
The absence is recorded on attendance. Consistent attendance helps dancers stay on track with their class.
We do not offer makeup classes for individual absences. Makeup opportunities may be offered if CDA misses too many classes because of weather or other closures.
Yes. One parent or guardian per dancer may observe class as long as they are not disruptive to the learning environment.
We make every effort to reschedule when possible, but makeup classes cannot always be guaranteed.
Urgent changes are sent by text. Important information is also shared through weekly emails, monthly newsletters, and class messaging in the Parent Portal.

CDA offers Nutcracker Reimagined, our annual Showcase, CDA Create • Perform • Inspire, camps, master classes, and other special opportunities throughout the year.
It is CDA’s annual holiday production featuring all participating classes dancing to festive holiday music. The show returns each year as part of our studio tradition.
It is an optional choreography challenge where dancers can choreograph, perform, and create original work for the stage.
Yes, as long as dancers meet the age and level requirements for the event.
Some are included in tuition and others are completely optional. Families are never required to pay for an optional program.
Dates are listed on our Studio Calendar, shared at registration, posted in the studio, and included in weekly and monthly communication.
Elite Tribe is CDA’s competitive dance team. Dancers train, rehearse competition choreography, and travel to competitions throughout the season.
No. Competition is completely optional, and dancers can progress through our recreational program without joining Elite Tribe.
Dancers register for evaluations and indicate that they would like to audition for Elite Tribe. Judges then determine team and routine placement.
Elite dancers are required to take ballet and barre, along with technique classes that support their competition routines.
Elite Tribe requires more time and financial commitment than recreational dance. Dancers and families should be prepared for additional classes, rehearsals, competitions, and expenses.
Yes. Recreational dancers may audition for Elite Tribe at any point in their dance journey.
