CDA Create. Perform. Inspire.

A Choreography Challenge

CDA Create. Perform. Inspire. gives dancers the opportunity to step beyond the classroom and become the artist. Participants may create an original routine, perform in a fellow dancer’s piece, or do both.

Through choreography, collaboration, rehearsals, and performance, dancers will build confidence, strengthen their artistry, and share their creativity onstage.

Performance Day: Sunday, January 31, 2027

Everything You Need To Know

Please reach us at dancecda.info@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

CDA Create. Perform. Inspire. is an annual choreography challenge that gives dancers the opportunity to create, perform, and grow as artists. Whether choreographing an original routine, performing in one, or both, participants will gain valuable experience while sharing their creativity on stage.

All CDA dancers are welcome to participate as performers. Junior, Teen, and Senior dancers may register as choreographers and create original routines featuring fellow CDA dancers.

Student choreographers will create, teach, and rehearse an original routine while developing leadership, creativity, and teamwork. Routines are professionally adjudicated and eligible for special awards and overall placements.

Our Elite competition dancers will perform teacher-choreographed routines in a mock competition setting. This division gives dancers valuable performance experience before competition season while remaining separate from the student choreography awards.

Rehearsals begin in January during Open Studio and are scheduled in 30-minute blocks on Saturday mornings. Choreographers are responsible for attending rehearsals and preparing their routines for performance. Rehearsals can happen outside of the CDA studios.

The event takes place on Sunday, January 31, 2027, at JB Pennington Auditorium. Dancers will perform in either the afternoon or evening session based on their age level, followed by an awards ceremony for each session.

Judges will recognize outstanding choreography, performance quality, creativity, and overall achievement. Awards are presented within the Student Choreography Division, while the Elite Teacher Division receives adjudication and performance feedback separately.

Tickets are available through participating dancers and at the door on the day of the event. Every routine helps support a professionally produced performance for our dancers and their families.

Registration opens in the fall, rehearsals begin in January, and the event concludes with the live performance on Sunday, January 31, 2027. Complete deadlines for music, costumes, and rehearsals can be found in the event handbook.
